Oregon Auto Shipping FAQs
At auto-transport-shipping.com we understand there are a lot of decisions to make when it comes to your Oregon auto shipping. Hopefully we can help by answering some of your questions ahead of time.
- Q: What is the difference between Open and Closed Transport?
A: Open trailers are the most common form of vehicle transport, and the least expensive. However, your vehicle will also be exposed to rain, sun, dust and weather conditions. Enclosed trailers provide extra protection but is a bit more expensive.
- Q: Can I ship a car that has expired registration?
A: Yes, you can. Your vehicle does not need to have active registration or even a license plate. Since the car is on a carrier and not on the road, you do not need it registered.
- Q: How do I track auto shipping order while in transport?
A: If you would like to track your vehicle, you will be given your drivers contact information as well as you will be able to contact your customer service representative at any time during your shipment.
- Q: Do I have to be at the pick-up or/and delivery location?
A: No, when setting up your order you can designate a representative for pickup and delivery for the driver. The contact must be at least 18 years of age. Both the pickup and delivery representatives are responsible for signing off on the Bill of Lading and inspecting your vehicle.
- Q: What is a Condition Report?
A: The Condition Report is a part of the Bill of Lading (BOL). The Condition Report documents the condition your vehicle is in at the time the driver takes custody. The driver along with you or your representative will fill out The Condition report together. You or your representative will verify it is correct and along with the driver will sign it. Claims of damage will be determined based on this report from the point of pick-up to delivery.
- Q: What do I do before shipping my vehicle?
A: Before shipping, we recommend inspecting your vehicle for any and all prior damages. These must be noted for insurance purposes. We always recommend taking photos.
